Recent reports from Danish financial media have indicated that several popular Danish fashion brands, including BTX Group, are facing significant financial difficulties. One of Denmark’s oldest clothing brands, BTX Group, which was established in 1935 and is the parent company of Brandtex, has filed for bankruptcy due to ongoing financial deficits and substantial debts.
In addition to BTX Group, other well-known Danish clothing brands like Bertoni Group, Custommade, Minimum, Esprit, Pompdelux, and Wood Wood have also faced similar fates. The economic downturn has impacted Danish fashion export markets in countries such as Germany, the UK, and France, while the devaluation of currencies in Sweden and Norway has increased the cost of Danish goods.
Furthermore, the competitive pricing from mainland China’s Shein and Temu has made it challenging for Danish companies to remain competitive. These developments underscore the challenges facing the Danish fashion industry in the current economic climate.
