Shein products were found to contain toxic substances.

Germany`s renowned independent product testing organization “ÖKO-TEST” recently carried out random inspections on items from a budget-friendly Chinese supplier. This included T-shirts, baby clothing, and sandals.

The results of the tests, revealed on July 25th, were rather concerning. Out of the 21 products examined, a staggering two-thirds failed to meet the standards, with the highest rating being only “acceptable”. Disconcertingly, toxic substances such as antimony, dimethylformamide, lead, cadmium, banned phthalates, naphthalene, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were discovered in some of the products.

Remarkably, despite the unsatisfactory test outcomes, the products have a relatively short lifespan due to their poor performance. However, it’s important to note that this also has a significant environmental impact.
